Twins and multiples have their own unique life experiences, but the way their lives intertwine — like the double helix of DNA they share — can be beautiful and complex. Often congruent and complementary, relationships between bonded siblings can embody the famous Latin phrase e pluribus unum: out of many, one.

Every year, thousands of twins pilgrimage to Twinsburg, Ohio, a charming spot that could double for any small American town. In the quaint town square, under big white tents and within each other's embrace, they gather to celebrate being the same, but different.

Photojournalist Sarah Rogers and filmmaker Kate Bennis made the trek, too, capturing the annual Twins Days Festival through a collection of interviews, portraits, and a documentary short film. In a moment ruled by division, when genuine human connection feels like a relic of another time, they sought answers to a vital question: What do twins know that the rest of us don't?
